Lots of Fedspeak

June 6, 2008

There has been a lot of Fedspeak recently. Pointing to each one individually would take a long time. Here are some good ones:

1. Bernanke compares 1970’s with recent times

2. Bernanke’s controversial speech where he says USD shouldn’t depreciate more as it leads to imported inflation

3. Lacker (Richmond Fed) on financial stability and moral hazard

4. Charler Plosser (Philadelphia Fed) on financial innovation, financial models and moral hazard

All are quite good and worth a quick read.

Read these two speeches for motivation

June 6, 2008

I have come across two speeches that are highly inspiring. One must read them whenever feeling low. Actually there are many books etc on spiritualism etc but words from people who have struggled and still made it to tops is riveting stuff. We have number of books but that take too much time.

One is a speech by Steve Jobs (Founder Apple and Pixar) other by J.K. Rowling (author Harry Potter series). Incidentally, both the speeches are Commencement addresses to the respective University Students. Jobs talks to Stanford students and Rowling to Harvard students.

A must read for all.
