A really interesting picture popped in my Facebook account showing how math teaching has changed over the years.
Not sure of the original source as came across a link showing the same thing in 2009 as well.
Actually it explains economics teaching too but in reverse. So in 1950s one could be looking at economics questions which ask you to argue pros and cons about impact of cutting trees on society etc. With each passing decade, they just ask you to just estimate the costs and profits of the activity (with an equation thrown in between)…
