It is always interesting to track central bank appointments, firing and resignations.
In just a fortnight, we have seen two resignations.
- One of Ghana, who resigned on 3o Mar 2017 as he was appointed by a President who lost elections. Expecting firing from the new government, Dr Abdul Nashiru Issahaku resigned within one year of service. A new Governor has been appointed as well.
- The second one is of Valeriia Gontareva of Central Bank of Ukraine which is even more interesting. She was appointed in 2014 (for a 7 year term?) but resigned interim. She was getting death threats via a coffin at her office in early March 2017 and finally resigned in April 2017.
