Will the newly created International Financial Services Centres Authority be the new boss of India’s financial markets?

Subhomoy Bhattacharjee wrote a piece in BS last week (30 July 2020).

He points how appointment of Injeti Srinivas as the head of International Financial Services Centres Authority will create new power structure in Indian financial markets. The International Financial Services Centres Authority Act makes it clear that none of the existing financial sector regulators – RBI, SEBI, IRDA etc – will have  a say in the IFSCA. At most they will have ex-officio status on the Board but that is a pity concession for the powers IFSCA and its head will enjoy.

Interesting…
